Primavera Sound 2012: Walking the music in a big way

We have very few days left for one of the most anticipated events of the season, Primavera Sound. This year promises to be quite an event even greater than in any previous editions. The reasons stand for themselves.

We are about to enjoy up to 5 journeys spread between May 30th and 31st and June 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Free concerts and new areas such as Avinguda Lluis Companys (next to the Arc del Triomf) are new reasons for celebration. Putting it all together is more than 80 bands that will be performing this year, and with such diversity of styles ranging from the most organic Indie-Pop with the plaid shirts (this was predictable) to Rap, classics from the ‘80s and ‘90s, or Death Metal. An extra incentive that puzzled many at first, but we all now want to find out how that works out.

It hasn´t been easy decision for us but here is our proposal, we suggest the following shows: Yann Tiersen, Björk, The Weeknd, Kings Of Convenience, Pional, M83 and Aeroplane. A taste of everything so that you don’t miss anything.

Let’s begin with two great modern myths like are the French Yann Tiersen and Björk. Autumnal Folk facing one of the most chameleonic personalities that exists in the Electronic Pop scene for many years. The shadow of “Amélie” in front of “Dancing in the dark.”. Glockenpiels against torn voices… And I could continue for ten  more paragraphs. But we’ll jump into two of the biggest surprises of last year, The Weeknd and Pional. The Canadian we already had him included in our list of the best of 2011. Emotional R & B, which is a real delicacy. The second, Pional, is none other than Miguel Barros from Madrid, one of the strongest promises on the music scene that fuses genres like House, Pop and Cosmic. And if what you’d like is to stay all night dancing, we suggest M83 -something tells us that his concert will be a real bath-mass of smiling faces- and Aeroplane.
